Our customers say it all ...

“I was very pleased by Lance and his hard working crew. They worked very hard in trying conditions. They were quite punctual. They cleaned up the area each time they left the job-I liked that. We are delighted with the planning, the hard work and the results. I would recommend them to others.”

“Over the years Lance and his crew at Artland Inc. have somehow managed to make our very rough ideas flow into rivers of stone and rock paths, expansive greenways, and sweeping beds of seasonal color; always in an amazingly short amount of time!”
~ Marilyn & Alan Kennell-McMurray,
Stanwood, WA

“In 2000 I moved to a pretty little cottage on the shore of a cove that leads into a larger lake. The house was in the middle of an overgrown "jungle" of trees, blackberry thickets and a weed infested lawn that lead down to the lake. Over the last few years Lance & his amazing crew have transformed the land and waterscape into beautiful and serene places, so-much-so that people stop on the street to look. They call out to me from their fishing boats to tell me how beautiful it all is! Thank you Lance and crew!”

“Lance and the team at Artland Inc. have done a wonderful job of rejuvenating our yard that had become overgrown and neglected.  Creative design and skillful maintenance have resulted in a beautiful space that is a source of enjoyment for our family and friends.”

This slope was the perfect height and angle, to incorporate a wall that would provide ample, comfortable seating, while at the same time creating separation and a clean border between the lawn and beds. The garden bed now displays much nicer. All of the planting may be viewed when propped at this angle. The rock wall is made of natural stone, with mortared joints. With this technique, weeds cannot grow between the gaps. The capstone is a 12 wide molded stone, providing some formality to the informal garden.

You are looking at a terraced bank, retained by 5 foot walls. The rock walls are made of 3 to 4 man basalt rocks. These two walls used over 150 tons of stone & took 2 weeks to complete. The step stones are enough to feel stable under foot. The plant selections were chosen both for their beauty and their roots, which add retention to the bank. Terracing allows the homeowner ease of maintenance, and the security of being able to walk around the hill without the feeling of twisting ankles. Our walls carry a lifetime warrantee against shifting or moving.

This Camano Island home landscape design was accomplished in just a few hours. It is a simple, flowing mix of sloped lawn and beds. Out-cropping rocks are dotted within the bed, to add texture and interest. This is especially important while the plants are in their initial growth period. We added mixed cobbles around the foundation, to keep mud from spattering on the house siding. Plants were carefully selected so as to not block any of the views of the sound.

Before this patio was installed, we added drainage, irrigation lines, and compacted, crushed rock. This new patio consists of Blue Stone squares and rectangles, implanted within decorative (stamped) concrete that was colored with an acid stain and then sealed. River rock colums and Blue Stone caps add interest, along with the Mountain Hemlock Alpines. We later added some large potted plants to soften the hard scape. The patio is approximately 1000 sq ft. and cost $25,000. This is a super easy maintenance patio.

When this client called me about his existing water feature, he asked if we could re-create it with a formal fountain look. This Water feature includes 3 different display options, and a random block retaining wall with charcoal colored cap-stone; a perfect pad for a viewing bench. The submersible lights and path lighting fixtures give this feature a rich look when entering the property at night. This system, which fills automatically as needed, uses only 5-10 gallons of water per day in the summer, and is very low maintenance.
